What we do

Med spa treatments in Woodside, NY

Twenty-four treatments, grouped four ways. Each page says what is actually done, what it costs, how many sessions it genuinely takes, what can go wrong and how likely that is — and, on every one of them, who we will not treat.

Some things people bring to a med spa need a doctor rather than a treatment room. Some things people bring to a med spa are not aesthetic problems and need a doctor rather than a treatment room. See a physician or a dermatologist, not us, if you have a mole or a mark that has changed shape, colour or size, or that bleeds, itches or will not heal; a sore anywhere that has been there more than three weeks; a rash you cannot explain; a patch of skin that is newly numb, hard or ulcerated; sudden hair loss in patches, or hair loss alongside fatigue or weight change; or swelling, heat and spreading redness that could be an infection. And if you have had filler treatment anywhere and the area becomes white or mottled, severely painful, or your vision changes, that is an emergency — telephone us immediately if we treated you, and go to an emergency room if you cannot reach somebody within minutes. We would far rather you rang a doctor and never rang us at all.

No before-and-after photographs, and no promised outcome. There are no before-and-after photographs on this website and there never will be. Every set you have seen somewhere else was chosen from a much larger pile, and the second picture is usually taken in different light, at a different angle, at a different time of day, often with makeup and frequently after retouching. Even an entirely honest pair shows you what happened to somebody else's face. What we publish instead is what a treatment typically changes, by roughly how much, how long it lasts, how many sessions it usually takes and how often people are disappointed. We do not guarantee an outcome, we cannot, and anybody who does is either guessing or selling.

What a med spa does not treat. We treat the appearance of healthy skin, hair and body. We do not diagnose or treat disease. If you bring us a mole, a changing mark, an unexplained rash, a sore that will not heal, skin that has become hard or numb, psoriasis, eczema, an autoimmune skin condition, or hair loss that came on suddenly or in patches, what you will get is the name of a doctor rather than a treatment plan. Aesthetic treatment applied on top of an undiagnosed skin problem can mask it, delay the diagnosis and occasionally make it worse. We would rather lose the booking.

01

Injectables & Facial Balancing

The treatments that break the skin, which makes them medicine rather than pampering. They are performed here by a clinician licensed to do them, after a consultation and a medical history, and this is the group where the honest conversation about how much is too much matters most.

Wrinkle-Relaxing Injections — Woodside Med Spa, Woodside NY

Injectables & Facial Balancing

Wrinkle-Relaxing Injections

A small amount of a purified protein placed in a specific muscle so it stops pulling as hard. It softens the lines that appear when you move. It does very little to the lines that are there when your face is still.

Dermal Fillers — Woodside Med Spa, Woodside NY

Injectables & Facial Balancing

Dermal Fillers

A gel placed under the skin to restore volume or change a contour. It works immediately and lasts months to years. It is also the treatment in this building with the smallest margin for error.

Lip Enhancement — Woodside Med Spa, Woodside NY

Injectables & Facial Balancing

Lip Enhancement

Filler placed in the lip to restore what has thinned, improve a shape or balance an asymmetry. Done well it is unremarkable. Done to excess it is the most recognisable treatment in aesthetics.

Under-Eye Treatment — Woodside Med Spa, Woodside NY

Injectables & Facial Balancing

Under-Eye Treatment

The hollow under the eye is the most technically demanding area on the face and the one most often treated badly. Half the people who ask for it here are advised against it, and the reasons are on this page.

Collagen-Stimulating Injections — Woodside Med Spa, Woodside NY

Injectables & Facial Balancing

Collagen-Stimulating Injections

Rather than filling a space, these provoke your own tissue into making collagen across several months. Slower, subtler and longer-lasting — and much harder to sell, because for weeks there is nothing to see.

Injectable Fat Reduction — Woodside Med Spa, Woodside NY

Injectables & Facial Balancing

Injectable Fat Reduction

An injected solution that destroys fat cells in a small, defined pocket — most often under the chin. It swells substantially for a week, it needs two or three sessions, and it is permanent.

02

Laser & Light

Energy delivered into skin to reduce hair, break up pigment, close a vessel or provoke repair. Powerful, genuinely effective, and the group with the highest chance of an injury if the settings, the skin type or recent sun exposure are wrong. Every page in this group tells you who should not have it.

Laser Hair Reduction — Woodside Med Spa, Woodside NY

Laser & Light

Laser Hair Reduction

The most reliably satisfying treatment in this building, provided the expectation is right: it is a permanent reduction rather than a permanent removal, and it takes a course spread across months.

Laser Skin Resurfacing — Woodside Med Spa, Woodside NY

Laser & Light

Laser Skin Resurfacing

Controlled removal of the surface of the skin so that it heals back smoother, or controlled heating beneath it without breaking the surface. The first works better; the second costs you nothing in downtime.

IPL Photofacial — Woodside Med Spa, Woodside NY

Laser & Light

IPL Photofacial

A broad flash of filtered light absorbed by brown patches and red vessels, which breaks them up so the body can clear them. Excellent for sun damage on lighter skin — and genuinely risky on richer skin.

Laser Vein Treatment — Woodside Med Spa, Woodside NY

Laser & Light

Laser Vein Treatment

Light absorbed by blood inside a small unwanted vessel heats it enough to close it, and the body clears it over weeks. Good for facial vessels and fine leg veins — and not a treatment for varicose veins.

Radiofrequency Skin Tightening — Woodside Med Spa, Woodside NY

Laser & Light

Radiofrequency Skin Tightening

Controlled heat delivered into the deeper layers of skin, which contracts existing collagen a little and provokes new collagen over months. A modest, gradual treatment that is routinely over-sold as a face lift.

Laser Tattoo Removal — Woodside Med Spa, Woodside NY

Laser & Light

Laser Tattoo Removal

Extremely short pulses of light shatter tattoo ink into fragments small enough for the body to carry away. It works, it takes many sessions across more than a year, and some inks never fully clear.

Skin & Facial Treatments

The work that does not need a needle: cleansing, exfoliation, resurfacing, controlled micro-injury and the slow, unglamorous business of improving the surface of skin across months. This is the group most people should start in, and the one we most often recommend instead of what somebody came in asking for.

Medical-Grade Facials — Woodside Med Spa, Woodside NY

Skin & Facial Treatments

Medical-Grade Facials

A facial performed by a licensed aesthetician using professional-strength actives, chosen for your skin rather than from a menu. It is treatment rather than pampering, and it is where most people should begin.

Hydradermabrasion Facial — Woodside Med Spa, Woodside NY

Skin & Facial Treatments

Hydradermabrasion Facial

A device that exfoliates, extracts and applies a serum in the same pass, using water and gentle suction. Reliably good at congestion and dullness, and reliably oversold as something transformative.

Chemical Peels — Woodside Med Spa, Woodside NY

Skin & Facial Treatments

Chemical Peels

An acid applied for a controlled time to shed a controlled depth of skin. Depth is the whole game — a light peel is a lunchtime treatment you repeat, a medium peel is a genuinely peeling week and a real result.

Microneedling — Woodside Med Spa, Woodside NY

Skin & Facial Treatments

Microneedling

Hundreds of tiny controlled punctures provoke a repair response, and the skin rebuilds slightly thicker and smoother. The workhorse of texture and scarring treatment, and safe on every skin tone.

RF Microneedling — Woodside Med Spa, Woodside NY

Skin & Facial Treatments

RF Microneedling

Microneedling with heat delivered from the tips of the needles, so the repair response happens at depth as well as at the surface. Stronger than microneedling, gentler on pigment than a laser.

Dermaplaning — Woodside Med Spa, Woodside NY

Skin & Facial Treatments

Dermaplaning

A sterile blade drawn across the skin at an angle removes dead surface cells and fine vellus hair. Skin looks brighter immediately and makeup sits better. It does not make hair grow back thicker.

Body, Hair & Wellness

Contouring, hair restoration, infusions and medically supervised weight management. This group carries the trade's biggest claims and its thinnest evidence, so these pages are the bluntest on the site about what a treatment can realistically do and who it cannot help at all.

Body Contouring — Woodside Med Spa, Woodside NY

Body, Hair & Wellness

Body Contouring

Controlled cooling destroys fat cells in a defined pocket and the body clears them across three months. It treats a shape, not a weight, and it is the most oversold category in aesthetics.

Cellulite Treatment — Woodside Med Spa, Woodside NY

Body, Hair & Wellness

Cellulite Treatment

Cellulite is a structural feature of normal skin, not a disease and not a sign of anything. It can be improved somewhat. It cannot be cured, and this page is more sceptical than most about what is on offer.

Hair Restoration — Woodside Med Spa, Woodside NY

Body, Hair & Wellness

Hair Restoration

Your own blood is spun to concentrate the platelets, and the concentrate is injected into the scalp to stimulate thinning follicles. It works on hair that is thinning, not on scalp where hair has gone.

IV Hydration Therapy — Woodside Med Spa, Woodside NY

Body, Hair & Wellness

IV Hydration Therapy

Fluid and, where appropriate, vitamins delivered into a vein across forty minutes. Genuinely useful when somebody is dehydrated. Not a detox, not an immune treatment, and not better than drinking water.

Vitamin Injections — Woodside Med Spa, Woodside NY

Body, Hair & Wellness

Vitamin Injections

An intramuscular injection of a specific vitamin, for somebody who has been shown to be deficient in it. Useful and cheap in that case. Pointless in every other case, and we will say so.

Medical Weight Management — Woodside Med Spa, Woodside NY

Body, Hair & Wellness

Medical Weight Management

A physician-led programme built on assessment, blood work, nutrition and regular review, in which medication is one possible component rather than the product. We do not advertise medicines and we turn people away.

A written plan and a written price before anything is booked

Book a consultation

Pick a clinician and an hour from the calendar — it shows only the times each of them genuinely has free. A consultation is a full hour at a table with no treatment couch in the room, and it costs $85, or $120 with the medical director. If you go ahead, that comes off your first treatment. If we tell you the answer is nothing, or a dermatologist, it costs exactly the same.
